What a Bentley Minor and Major Service Really Costs in Dubai
A Bentley service bill in Dubai is set by what the schedule year calls for, not by the word minor or major. Below: every line that can appear on the invoice, estimated labour hours for each, and what heat, dust and summer standing add.
Continental GT and GTC, Flying Spur and Bentayga, V8 and W12.
A service-due message on the instrument cluster, or 12 months since the last visit.
Due at 12 months or 16,000 km. Brake fluid and coolant are changed by the calendar, not the odometer.
Genuine or OE-supplier filters, plugs and fluids. Used parts have no place in a routine service.
Bentley service cost in Dubai: three typical bills, broken down
Prices move with Bentley parts pricing and oil costs, so we don't print dirham figures that go stale. The workload of each visit doesn't change. These three cases are illustrations built from Bentley's schedule for cars four years and older, not real customer jobs.
| Typical case | Service due | Items beyond oil and inspection | Estimated labour | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bentayga V8, 5 years old | Year-5 minor | Coolant change, fuel filter, tyre sealant | 4.5–7 h | Contact us for a current quote |
| Continental GT W12, 6 years old | Year-6 major | Spark plugs (intake manifold off), brake fluid, air and pollen filters | 7–11 h | Contact us for a current quote |
| Flying Spur V8, 4 years old | Year-4 major | Brake fluid, air and pollen filters, tyre sealant | 3.5–6 h | Contact us for a current quote |
Estimate: hours total the line estimates in the next section, assuming an experienced Bentley technician with the car on a lift, not Bentley's published labour times.
Notice the first row. A year-5 "minor" can take longer than a year-4 "major", because coolant and the fuel filter fall due that year. Know this before you compare quotes.
What's actually on a Bentley service invoice, line by line
The "due" column follows Bentley's published schedule for cars four years and older. The hours are our estimates, a guide to the size of each job.
| Invoice line | When it's due | Estimated labour |
|---|---|---|
| Engine oil (Bentley specifies Mobil 1), oil filter, sump plug and washer | Every service | 0.7–1.0 h |
| Inspection: brakes, air suspension, steering joints, leaks, drive belt, exhaust, tyres, lights | Every service | 0.8–1.2 h |
| Diagnostic scan for stored faults, service indicator reset | Every service | 0.2–0.4 h |
| Key fob batteries, washer fluid, tyre pressures | Every service | 0.2 h |
| Clearing debris from the radiator and condenser stack | Every service | 0.3–0.8 h |
| Pollen (cabin) filters | Every 2 years | 0.3–0.6 h |
| Engine air filters | Years 2, 4, 6, 8 | 0.3–0.5 h |
| Brake fluid change | Every 2 years | 0.8–1.0 h |
| Spark plugs, V8 | Years 3, 6, 9 | 1.5–2.5 h |
| Spark plugs, W12 (intake manifold removed, new gaskets) | Years 3, 6, 9 | 3.5–5 h |
| Fuel filter | Years 5 and 10 | 0.5–1.0 h |
| Engine coolant | Every 5 years | 1.5–2.5 h |
| Tyre sealant kit | Years 4, 5, 8, 10 | 0.1 h |
Assuming standard access and no seized fixings. Your bill is roughly these hours × the workshop's hourly rate, plus parts and oil. Contact us for a current quote.
Ask every workshop to write the schedule year and each replaced item on the quote. If a year that calls for spark plugs, brake fluid or coolant comes back without them, the lower price is a smaller job, not a cheaper one.
What pushes a Bentley service bill up, or keeps it down
The schedule year matters more than the label
One UK Bentley specialist's published fixed prices put a year-4 major at roughly two-thirds more than an interim service, while the year-2 major sits only about a fifth higher. Same name, very different job.
W12 costs more than V8
US consumer research puts 12-cylinder Bentley servicing about 25% above the V8 on average. Most of the gap is the plug change: on the W12, the intake manifold comes off to reach all twelve plugs. Owners who've done it themselves often report grit around the coils; in Dubai dust, vacuum the wells before a plug comes out.
Fluids due by the calendar
Plenty of Dubai Bentleys cover few kilometres a year, yet still owe brake fluid every two years and coolant every five. Low mileage lowers the oil bill, not these.
Wear found on inspection
Worn pads and discs, an air suspension leak or tired tyres are quoted as separate repairs. On owner forums the recurring complaint is the add-ons nobody mentioned up front, not the service. A good workshop sends photos and waits for your yes.
Parts choice
For most owners, we'd fit genuine or OE-supplier filters and plugs every time; the saving on budget filters is small next to the engine they protect. Used parts suit large components, never service consumables.
How often a Bentley service falls due in Dubai
Bentley's interval is 12 months or 16,000 km, whichever comes first. From year four, minor and major services alternate: majors in even years or every 32,000 km, minors in between. The table shows what each visit should include.
| Car's age | Service | Extra items due that year |
|---|---|---|
| Year 4 | Major | Air and pollen filters, brake fluid, tyre sealant |
| Year 5 | Minor | Coolant, fuel filter, tyre sealant |
| Year 6 | Major | Air and pollen filters, brake fluid, spark plugs |
| Year 7 | Minor | Oil, filter and inspection only |
| Year 8 | Major | Air and pollen filters, brake fluid, tyre sealant |
| Year 9 | Minor | Spark plugs |
| Year 10 | Major | Pollen filters, brake fluid, coolant, fuel filter, tyre sealant |
Cars under four years follow the schedule in their service book; check it before booking.
Most Dubai Bentleys hit the 12-month trigger first. Two local adjustments help. Summer highs top 43°C in July and August and dusty winds load the air filters, so we inspect them at every visit, not just in even years. And if the car stands while you travel, we'd book the service for September or October, so fresh oil and a battery check coincide with its return to daily use.
How long your Bentley is away, from pickup to drop-off
Typical case, minor service: collected in the morning, back the same evening. Typical case, major service without spark plugs: usually the same day. A W12 major with plugs, or a year-5 coolant change: plan on the car staying overnight.
What stretches it is a worn part that isn't on the shelf. Genuine Bentley parts sometimes need ordering, and we'd rather wait a day than fit the wrong one. You'll hear about it first.
Bentley service questions owners ask most
What's the difference between a Bentley minor and major service?
Both include oil, oil filter, a full inspection and a diagnostic scan. A major service adds air and pollen filters and a brake fluid change. Some minors carry big items too: coolant and the fuel filter at year 5, spark plugs at year 9.
Is a Bentley oil change the same as a minor service?
No. A minor service also covers the inspection checklist, fault scan, key fob batteries, cleaning debris from the radiator stack and the service reset. An oil-only visit leaves all of that undone.
My Bentley hardly moves in summer. Can I skip a year?
We wouldn't. Oil ages in the sump even when the car is parked, and brake fluid and coolant are due on time, not distance. Skipping a year also leaves a gap in the service history buyers look for.
Why does a W12 Bentley cost more to service than a V8?
Twelve cylinders means twelve plugs, and on the W12 the intake manifold has to come off to reach them, with new gaskets on refit. In the plug years, that adds several hours of labour.
